About Project Orange
Project Orange is a resourceful and agile award-winning Architecture and Design Studio set up and owned by Christopher Ash and James Soane who also are partners in life. We see ourselves as a stepping-stone practice and are proud that over the past 20 years more than 50% of our employees have gone on to set up on their own. We believe in working collaboratively to generate purposeful and sustainable projects which cross the boundaries between architecture and interior design. Our ethos means that we do our own administration and organising which means you get a full picture of the practice. In the face of the ecological crisis we are actively taking an ethical position that values resilience, innovation and community. Christopher leads much of the housing work and technical resolution, while James has directed most of the interior portfolio as well as specialist projects. He was also a founder staff member of the London School of Architecture where he was the Director of Critical Practice. Christopher regularly sits on the RIBA Suffolk Design Review Panel and is also a Part III examiner at the AA.
Part 2 Assistant / Junior Architect Role £30,000 - £40,000 – per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
Much of our work is based in East Anglia with some key projects in London also. Projects range from innovative rural developments of multiple new homes through one-off individual houses, to a number of substantial remodelling and extension projects.
We are looking for a candidate who is interested in housing and the environment. You will have great design skills and be able to work across a number of platforms including Vectorworks and Sketchup, be eager to learn and happy to take direction. The position is for someone who will be able to work in our Lavenham Suffolk studio at least 3 days a week.
