Project Orange was commissioned in 2008 to collaborate in the conversion to a luxury hotel of Lutyen’s 1920s Grade I Listed former Midland Bank Headquarters in the City of London. The concept for the new bedrooms and bathrooms draws inspiration from Lutyen’s language of idiosyncratic neo-classicism as found in the beautifully preserved panelled Director’s Offices to the fourth floor. The aim was to create a luxurious grand hotel within this prestigious building fusing the past with the present and outstanding service with style.
