Raoul’s Deli
Sector
Food + Drink, Retail
Having already designed the original café and express store for Raoul's, Project Orange was asked to create a new Deli concept store for the brand in a site opposite their café in Maida Vale. Occupying two adjoining units, the new shop combines patisserie and delicatessen in a sophisticated and luxurious environment that both celebrates the product and enriches the fun of food shopping.
We unified two distinct shop fronts into a branded whole through matching detailing, colour and signage. Through the display windows however, super graphics may be glimpsed that denote one shop 'patisserie' the other 'delicatessen'.
The units connect towards the rear of the plan and share a palette of materials evocative of traditional food emporiums – white marble, mirror, stainless steel, timber and basket weave Lloyd Loom. Lighting is by warm glowing filament strips suspended in a grid across the ceiling. All counters are bespoke to Project Orange designs, and are a response to the merchandise Raoul's like to display, be it pastries, cheeses or chilled foods prepared on the premises.
